DO-IT-YOURSELF HOME ENERGY SAVING WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 12th & Sunday April 13th | Time: 1:00pm-4:30pm
Presented by Glen Schmidt, REEP

In partnership with Glenn Schmidt of the Residential Energy Efficiency Project (REEP) located in Kitchener, the Grand House Cooperative hosted a two day workshop on DIY home renovations. REEP is a non-profit organization that provides evaluations of homes and suggests easy renovations for homeowners, to both save money and energy.

The first Saturday session included information on energy efficiency, evaluations and electrical savings. The second session included practical renovations that homeowners can do in order to improve the insulation value of their home, with particular reference to windows, attic, main walls and doors. How each component ties together to form an energy efficient building envelope was an important aspect of this presentation.
